Final Conference

A two-day closing conference was organised in Heraklion, Greece on the 22-23 October 2015 to discuss the results of the project and identify exploitation channels. The conference contributed to the dissemination of the project’s outcomes to a large audience including key stakeholders, policy makers, governmental bodies, professional organisations, health promotion bodies, educational authorities, NGOs, mass media and lay persons involved in health care provision and health care planning. More specifically, the conference gathered eminent academics, researchers, professionals and policy makers from Europe and Canada coming from various disciplines including Medicine, Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Engineering with the aim to foster a common understanding of the post-crash needs and generate insights on how to translate the theoretical knowledge gained through the project into policy and action. The conference addressed several aspects related to severe injury sustained in road traffic crashes and the day after the accident from the victim and the service.
